Urgent! Family Law Update

Dear Clients,

Jefferies Family is open for business. We are here for existing and new clients as family life carries on but these unique times may present unique challenges.

The government has rightly acknowledged that keeping the justice system running during the current crisis is vital, and that legal practitioners are fundamental to achieving this aim.  Jefferies Family Solicitor advocates (i.e. Anne-Marie Rainsford and Brooke Robdrup-Kilgour) are key workers, as we are fundamentally an important part of the running of the Justice system. We are here to support you.

There are arrangements with the Court service for us to make urgent and necessary applications. Most hearings will take place by video/Skype/telephone conferencing. We have been doing this already. The Court is open for urgent business.

If you are the victim of domestic abuse and need a Court order to protect yourself or your children please call us. We can help and advise about the availability of legal aid.

If you are co-parenting (sharing the arrangements for caring for your children) and need legal advice to negotiate arrangements we can help.

If Social Services are involved with your family and are raising concerns/allegations about the care of your children, the Court is still hearing applications for Court orders, which can in certain circumstances lead to the removal of children from home in a case of imminent risk. We can still apply for legal aid to represent you.
