Background
Anne-Marie Rainsford is a Partner at Jefferies Solicitors Essex and Head of the Family Law department, which comprises a team of Family Law Solicitors who are able to represent clients across the whole spectrum of family law issues.
Anne-Marie qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 after studying at the University of Liverpool, achieving a 2.1 degree in Law and thereafter completing her LPC in London where she achieved a Distinction overall, including in family law.
In Work
Anne-Marie joined Jefferies in 2013, shortly after obtaining her Higher Rights of Audience, and just before achieving accreditation on the Law Society’s Children Panel, membership of which demonstrates a high level of specialism within children law.
Anne-Marie represents parents, family members and children (both via Cafcass and also directly) within all areas of children law, including care proceedings, private family law proceedings and other areas such as adoption, same sex families and cases with a foreign element including adoption.
Anne-Marie takes pride in providing a high level of service to all her clients and in representing them in Court when possible. She is a skilled and experienced advocate who has appeared in local courts, as well as those further afield, and the High Court. She is aware of the need to take a robust approach to evidence and ensures that her clients are advised at every stage what the evidence says for them what this means for their case and how this can be challenged.
The areas of law Anne-Marie deals with are sensitive areas which require a compassionate and collaborative approach. Anne-Marie ensures her clients feel safe and secure in her hands as she guides them, and represents them, through proceedings which are known to be one of the hardest types of proceedings for someone to go through.
In leading and managing the Family Law department, Anne-Marie is proud to work with such excellent colleagues who share a goal of ensuring fair and strong representation for all our clients. The department was started and expanded under Stella Young who remains a consultant within the department and Anne-Marie is grateful for the continuing mentorship and guidance she provides to the team.
Outside Work
In her spare time, Anne-Marie enjoys music and some sport (to varying degrees of success) as well as learning and developing Spanish.
