It was a busy day for our Family Law solicitor, Brooke Robdrup-Kilgour who was invited to take part in the SOS Domestic Abuse Projects’ Domestic Abuse Awareness Week.
Our Family Law department have a wealth of experience which crosses all aspects of family work; including care proceedings, private children matters, domestic violence, divorce and finance. The Solicitors all hold accreditations with the Law Society including the Children Panel and the Advanced Family Panel.
Over the course of the week SOS put on a series of training sessions covering a variety of domestic abuse related issues. Over 100 local professionals benefited from the sessions including support workers, perinatal nurses, police officers, housing officers and hostel staff.
Brooke delivered a session focussing on civil injunctions that can be obtained through the Family Court including Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and Prohibited Steps Orders.
There was some lively discussion throughout the session and Q&A at the end. It was interesting to hear different professionals’ views of the process given we are all involved at different points along the way.
