Accidents at work case study

Jefferies Essex LLP recently acted for a client who sustained a crushing injury to his left-hand index finger during the course of his employment. The tip of his finger was amputated at the scene.

A medical expert confirmed that our client continues to suffer with pain, sensitivity and tenderness of the fingertip, in addition to a cosmetic defect. As a result of the injury, our client had to take time off work and was consequently unable to return to work in that field.

Jefferies were successful in recovering damages including provision for the cost of surgery, subsequent therapy and time off work.
