Rebecca Driver, Licensed Conveyancer

We are delighted to announce that Rebecca Driver has joined Jefferies as a Licensed Conveyancer at our Chelmsford office, where she will be helping us extend our Conveyancing services to the residents of Chelmsford. Rebecca brings 18 years’ residential conveyancing experience to her role, specialising in both Freehold and Leasehold transactions, including Re-mortgages, Transfer of Equity, Help to Buy, Shared Ownership and Lease extensions.

Below, Rebecca has shared her insights into her new role at Jefferies, her hopes for the property market and her advice for budding solicitors!

1. What is your role at Jefferies?
Licensed Conveyancer in the Conveyancing department.

2. What did you do before you began working here?
I worked for another local firm for 9 years.

3. What do you like most about working at Jefferies?
Everyone is really nice and supportive. I am starting the Conveyancing department in the Chelmsford office and I’m excited for the new challenge!

4. What does a typical day look like for you?
The first thing I do is check my emails and deal with anything urgent. I then check on exchanges and completions and then I do any quotes or open any files on new instructions. The rest of the day is dealing with general post and emails and any calls that come in.

5. What do you like most about your role?
Completion day is satisfying especially if it has been a long drawn out transaction. It’s nice to speak to clients and tell them the good news.

6. What is your biggest professional achievement to date?
Having worked in Conveyancing for a while and studying in my spare time, finally qualifying was a huge thing for me.

7. What are your hopes for our industry?
I really hope the property market stays stable, especially during these uncertain times.

8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to spend time with my family.

9. What is your favourite quote?
“Make new friends but keep the old, for one is silver, the other gold!”

10. Do you have any advice for those looking to start a career in law?
Work hard and keep at it. Never be afraid to ask if you do not understand something. Even the most experienced of lawyers come across new things they haven’t done before.

Thanks to Rebecca for sharing her insights. To find out more about Rebecca and how she can help you with your residential conveyancing queries, please email rdd@jefferieslaw.co.uk.
